Our Olive Oil
Olive oil is the single most important ingredient in Italian cuisine. With production refined over centuries, Italian olive oils are known the world over for their quality, taste and health attributes. As producers of responsibly farmed Tuscan Maremma olive oil, Verde Argento helps bring the authentic taste of Italian tradition to every table.
Variety, care and savoir-faire
Our extra virgin olive oils are produced from several varieties of olives – Leccino, Morellino, Moraiolo, Pendolino and Frantoiano – all of which are native to the Maremma area of Tuscany. Throughout production, we employ exclusively mechanical processes and cold pressing. We have obtained IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) certification, which is your guarantee that our products have been produced using only the highest production standards.
Quality, infused over time
The majority of Verde Argento’s olive groves are centuries old. Because older olive trees have stronger, deeper roots, they can access the nutrients and water that younger trees cannot, which means the olives that our trees produce are of high quality and richer in taste. Maturity also brings stability – our olive trees are strong and resistant, meaning that fruit growth cycles are much less likely to be affected by climatic variations, meaning our olive oils are of a continuous and consistent quality.
Natural nutrition and health
It has been scientifically proven that olives grown from mature olive trees have a different chemical composition to olives grown from younger trees, providing a profile of fatty acids and phenolic compounds that improve greatly the nutritional qualities of the oil that they produce. Because our olives are the fruit of mature trees, Verde Argento olive oils harbour excellent and natural nutrition and health benefits, improved even further when included as part of a balanced diet.
